About the Author
Founder of Berean Press, and author of While We Wait: Reflections on Kingdom Living.
James Alderson is the founder of Berean Press, a UK-registered Christian publisher of formational Christian writing, and the author of the While We Wait series.
He writes from personal experience – a season of financial failure and lost inheritance, and the slow, uncomfortable work of learning who he was becoming in the middle of it. That experience gave rise to While We Wait: three parables Jesus told in His final week, which James found had been describing his own journey long before he could name it himself.
His writing is confessional rather than theoretical, and shaped throughout by the teachings of Jesus. He describes himself as a teacher, not a pastoral counsellor: the series is pastoral in motive, but offered as an aid to reflection rather than direct pastoral guidance.
Berean Press exists for the same reason the series does – to publish formational Christian writing that helps Christians at any stage of their walk with God live more faithfully in His light.
"What I have written is not a guide. It is a reflection – one person's attempt to sit honestly with three parables and share what they revealed."
